Introducing: Linda Teglash

I’m running for Penfield town council because I'm passionate about our community and dedicated to making a positive difference. More than 20 years of experience as a leader in development and management across various industries, combined with a genuine commitment to our town’s well-being, make me an exceptionally qualified candidate for town council. My expertise in IT, application software, and training, with a proven track record of achieving corporate growth targets, exceeding client satisfaction goals, and reducing expenses, demonstrates my ability to drive successful outcomes. I have been responsible for multi-million-dollar budgets, double-digit revenue growth, new development, and people care. I am committed to community service, evidenced by my active involvement in local non-profit organizations, volunteering, and advocacy. As a strategic thinker and effective communicator, I possess the skills necessary to address the needs of Penfield residents, to develop innovative solutions, and to engage with diverse stakeholders to create a positive impact on our town.

My fundamental core values are integrity, trustworthiness, and credibility. "Seek to Understand" is one of my guiding principles: recognizing that everyone faces challenges on a daily basis and is doing the best they can in any given situation. I reject stereotypes and believe people don’t belong in “boxes.” I'm deeply committed to fostering unity and inclusivity; I believe a strong community is one in which everyone's voice is heard and diverse perspectives are valued. I want to ensure Penfield is a welcoming and inclusive place for everyone. I will strive to be a responsive and accessible advocate for the needs and interests of residents, and am committed to listening to their concerns, ideas, and aspirations.

I'm passionate about protecting our environment and will work to implement policies that promote sustainability. By serving on town council, I plan to advocate for smart development practices, promote green initiatives, and ensure that Penfield’s growth aligns with the long-term interests of our whole town.

I'm dedicated to the well-being and success of our kids. I believe in providing them with opportunities for growth, education, and engagement. As a member of the town council, I will always work to support our schools, recreational programs, and other initiatives that empower our families and young residents to thrive.

I am confident in my ability to be a positive council member for our community, and motivated by a commitment to this community. Together, let's create a bright and prosperous future for Penfield.

I'm a Buffalo (Go Bills) native, born and raised in the city. My business career in Information Technology started with GM and its subsidy, EDS. I started my career with an amazing company that valued its people above everything, and within a few years, I progressed into leadership, moving from Michigan to Dallas, Texas. Throughout my business career, I've held leadership positions of increasing complexity, leading small teams to large organizations. I've also had the privilege of training and mentoring future leaders while recruiting top talent to drive organizational success.

After spending years away from New York, my husband and I moved to the Rochester area. We were fortunate to discover an amazing neighborhood in which to raise our four children, all of whom grew up benefiting from the excellent Penfield schools, wonderful Penfield Rec Department, and youth sports leagues.

Community involvement has been a significant part of my life. I dedicated many years to the Penfield Strikers soccer club as a board member, vice president, registrar, and webmaster. I currently serve on the board of the Max Velocity Track & Field Academy, overseeing the registrar duties and managing the organization's website.

Having firsthand experience with so many of the remarkable aspects of the Penfield community, my family and I feel incredibly fortunate and I am excited to be running as a candidate for Penfield town council.
